Top Hat Dance Studio is committed to bringing quality dance training to children of all ages. Our vibrant & knowledgeable staff has created an environment that enables each student to discover the joy of dance, explore musicality, and gain self-confidence & poise.

Opportunities beyond group classes are provided for each student; such as medal tests, workshops, and recitals. The technique learned at Top Hat Dance Studio is invaluable and the fun had by each student is immeasurable.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS / SCHEDULE & TUITIONS / NEW PROGRAMS
Creative Movement
Creative Movement begins the journey of body awareness and motor skill development for every little dancer. Through the use of music & dance games, students learn self-expression and movement in a fun and encouraging atmosphere.
Pre-Ballet
In Pre-Ballet, students begin to learn specific dance terminology & techniques by incorporating patterns from ballet. The basics of musical expression are also explored in this class.
Ballet
In this class, movement is learned in a more conventional ballet class setting. Strength, flexibility, and poise are developed through barre work, exercises in the center of the floor, and traveling across the floor.
Lyrical/Contemporary
Lyrical dance is a dance style that embodies various aspects of ballet, jazz, acrobatics, and modern dance. The style combines ballet technique with the freedom and musicality of jazz and contemporary. Lyrical dance is “strongly associated with clearly displayed emotional moods, fast-moving choreographic strategies, emphasis on virtuosic display, illustration of song lyrics, and, in group form, exact unison.” The style is usually danced at a faster pace than ballet but not as fast as jazz. Lyrical dance is a category typically found in dance competitions.
Hip-Hop
Hip-Hop is the perfect avenue to learn today's most popular dance moves. The dance patterns given in this class will challenge the mind & body to move creatively while studying Hip-Hop and its influence on jazz and theater dance styles.
Tap
Tap dance is a form of dance characterized by using the sound of one's tap shoes hitting the floor as a percussive instrument. As such, it is also commonly considered to be a form of music. In these classes students will explore the movements and rhythms found in Tap Dancing.
